About

Mobile developer, volunteer firefighter, and maker from Finland.

I'm Juho Torkkeli, a senior mobile developer at Saarni Likeit. I also co-founded Mankeli Solutions, a company that focuses on solving other people's problems with software. Running a company of my own keeps me in an entrepreneur's mindset: I like owning a problem from the first idea all the way to something people actually use.

If I'm not happy with an existing solution, I don't think I have the right to complain unless I try to build a better one myself. That's where most of the projects on this site come from.

Most of my free time goes into side projects: apps, home automation and hardware, many of which you'll find on this site. For the hardware I design and 3D print my own parts, and some gadgets I print just for fun. I also fly drones, and the landscape below is one of my favorite shots, taken in Norway.

Beyond technology, I'm a volunteer firefighter, responding to emergencies and practicing useful skills at the fire station. I also love scuba diving and exploring what's beneath the surface.

Work

I've built mobile apps professionally since 2020. Before that I built them as a hobby, and I still do. Here's where I've worked.
